CHANGES IN THE WAY YOU CAN PAY YOUR RENT
As part of our commitment to improving services and delivering value for money the Association has introduced Direct Debits as a way for tenants to pay their rent.
Direct Debit is the most effective and cost-efficient way for the Association to manage its rental income payments.
If you currently pay by Standing Order you will be required to change this to a Direct Debit. We have a paperless Direct Debit scheme which you can set up by phoning the office and speaking to a member of the Finance Team (option 3).
We are also phasing out Allpay as a method for payment. If you currently have an Allpay card you should contact the office to set up a direct debit immediately.
The advantages of paying by Direct Debit include: -
- Payments can be set up to come out of your bank account weekly or monthly on a selection of dates which are: 1st, 8th, 15th or 28th
- All Direct Debits are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee this will be explained to you when you call to set up your Direct Debit mandate
- When your rent changes each year in April you will be notified in writing one month before of the change as normal and your Direct Debit will automatically be updated with no need for you to do anything – avoiding any arrears accruing on your account
Direct Debit payments can be set up quickly and easily, all we need is a minimum of 10 working days’ notice prior to the payment date you wish to choose.
Rent for your home is due in advance on the first of the month. If you are paying your rent at the end of each month for the preceding month you can set up your Direct Debit to pay a bit extra each month to bring your rent up to date.
If you have any questions about Direct Debit please contact the office and speak to the Finance team (by pressing option 3 when you call).
If you have any queries about paying your rent you can call and speak to your Housing Officer by calling the office and selecting option 1 when you call.
